Play Three

As a youngster and now as an adult, what games did / do you play? What have you learned from them?

Have you watched kids play at recess? What do you notice?

    Youngster-
We played kickball, dodgeball, tetherball, four square, jumprope, Guess Who, Monopoly, Nintendo, chess.

    Adults-
Guitar Hero, Scrabble, Cranium, Hangman, Dots, Wurdle, Pictionary, Trivial Pursuit, soccer, Pacman.

We’ve learned teamwork, cooperation, taking turns, sportsmanship, learning to lose, people skills, physical coordination, manipulation, learning strategies, accepting diversity.

    Kids play at recess-
In sports they are extremely competitive and have difficulties working out issues. I see imaginative games, chase, etc.

I don’t like to watch kids or students at recess. I talk to my co-workers and eat bon-bons all day.
